Made from a biodegradable
material of food waste and compost, providing extra
nutrients to plants while saving…well…waste!
No WAYste! is a family of horticulture and agriculture products such as plant pots, seed starting trays, berry baskets, and freezer compost boxes, made from a biodegradable material made of food waste that provides extra nutrients to plants.
It all started as material research using eggshells, which was an abundant waste object in a college dorm of broke students. Eggs are one of the most accessible food sources globally, creating 8.6 tonnes of eggshell waste per year.
After the No Wayste plant pot has been planted into the soil, it has biodegraded. Most of the plant pot has disappeared, leaving behind small fragments and tiny bits of eggshell to slowly seep into the soil.
The material also consists of peanut shells, soy pulp, and cardboard; providing calcium, lignin, carbon, cellulose, vitamin C, iron, magnesium, amino acids, and more to boost soil health and plant growth as the material breaks down.
From the plant pot, the product line was expanded to berry baskets and compost boxes, all of which allow for compostability as initial use to promote a circular economy model and better sustainability practices in our every day lives.
